A custom media wall can turn a plain living room wall into a finished focal point. But how much should you budget and what does the price actually include?
The answer depends on your wall dimensions, materials, and the features you choose. A simple decorative backdrop behind your television has a different scope from a wall with floating cabinets, shelves, lighting, and an electric fireplace.
At Dunya Home Design, qualifying basic residential TV-wall and accent-wall material packages start at $699. Professional installation is quoted separately. Dunya supplies the materials and step-by-step installation guides. You can hire your own contractor or install the panels yourself. Here is how to understand the different parts of your estimate.
In short: $699 is the starting point for the materials of a basic wall. Cabinets, lighting, an electric fireplace and installation are added on top, so a complete media wall usually needs a higher budget.
Materials and Installation Are Separate Costs
The material package provides the decorative surfaces for a qualifying design. It does not represent the total cost of every completed media wall.
Your installation estimate depends on the condition of the existing wall, your location, the selected materials, and the work needed to complete the design. Additional features, including cabinets, shelving, lighting, TV mounting, framing, and electrical work, can increase the total.
When comparing estimates, look at the complete scope. Ask what is included, what is optional, and whether any preparation or finishing work requires a separate charge.
What Affects the Price?
Wall Size and Panel Layout
A larger wall generally requires more material. Panel dimensions, cuts, pattern placement, and finishing details also affect the quantity needed.
You do not always need to cover the entire wall. A central marble-look section with decorative wood panels on either side can create a defined feature while leaving the outer areas painted.

Material Selection
Dunya offers FlexMarble, SPC stone-look panels, decorative wood panels, acoustic panels, and other wall finishes.
Different products create different effects. A marble-look center can provide a strong focal point, while fluted panels introduce texture. Seeing the materials together helps you choose a combination that suits both your room and budget.
Cabinets, Shelves, and Storage
A floating cabinet can provide storage beneath the television and give the design a more complete appearance. Floating shelves can make use of remaining wall space and display a few favorite objects.
These features add to the project scope. If your budget is limited, prioritize the features you will use most.
Lighting and Electrical Work
Lighting can highlight the wall’s texture or create a soft glow beneath a cabinet. However, adding lighting may require wiring, accessible controls, and professional electrical work.
Discuss outlet placement, visible cables, and lighting preferences before approving the design.
Three Ways to Approach Your Design
-
A simple feature wall: Keep the existing TV position and use a carefully selected panel layout as the backdrop. This is where ready-made media wall panels make the most sense: they give you a finished look at the lowest cost.
-
A wall with storage: Add a floating cabinet and coordinated shelving to combine visual impact with everyday function.
-
A fully customized media wall: Include features such as an electric fireplace, niches, lighting, or construction changes. These projects require an individual estimate.
These are design approaches, rather than fixed-price packages. Your final quote should reflect your actual wall and selected features.
