FLEXMARBLE™ Installation Guide

by Momentum Digital on Feb 13, 2026
FLEXMARBLE™ Installation Guide

Transform walls, ceilings, furniture, and more with FLEXMARBLE™—a flexible, marble-look surface designed for fast, clean installation. Use this guide to understand how to prepare your space, install the sheets, and finish them for long-lasting performance.

Before You Start

Check Your Space

For best results, install FLEXMARBLE™ in:

  • Dry environments with a stable temperature (ideally above 59°F / 15°C)

  • Clean, dust-free rooms with good ventilation

If the material has been delivered in cold weather, allow the rolls to acclimate indoors for a few hours before opening and installing.

Inspect the Material

Before you apply any adhesive:

  • Unroll each sheet fully

  • Check color, pattern flow, and surface condition

  • Plan how patterns will align from sheet to sheet

Do not install any sheet that appears damaged or defective.

Tools & Materials

You will need:

  • Utility knife with sharp blades

  • Metal straightedge or T-square

  • Rubber roller (for pressing sheets)

  • Medium-nap paint roller and tray (for lacquer/sealer)

  • Compatible wall or panel adhesive (see recommendations below)

  • Recommended clear lacquer / polyurethane sealer

  • Painter’s tape for masking edges

  • Clean microfiber cloths

Surface Preparation

A proper substrate is critical to performance and appearance. The installation surface must be:

  • Clean – free from dust, grease, loose paint, and debris

  • Dry – no active moisture, leaks, or damp patches

  • Smooth – bumps and defects will show through the sheet

  • Stable – no flaking coatings, crumbling plaster, or moving joints

Suitable substrates, when correctly prepared, include:

  • Primed drywall or plaster

  • Sealed MDF or plywood

  • Properly cured and sealed concrete

  • Existing tile (degreased and leveled)

  • Metal and some plastics (e.g., plexiglass), if clean and compatible with adhesive

If needed, fill holes and sand rough areas, then apply a suitable primer. Always allow patching compounds and primers to dry fully before installation.

Planning & Measuring

  1. Map your panels

    • Measure the area and decide where each FLEXMARBLE™ sheet will go.

    • Plan seams away from highly visible focal points where possible.

  2. Dry-fit first

    • Hold sheets in place without adhesive to confirm fit, pattern direction, and seam alignment.

  3. Cut to size

    • Use a sharp utility knife and straightedge.

    • Make cuts from the back when possible to protect the decorative surface.

    • Leave a small allowance where needed for final trimming on-site.

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Apply Adhesive

Use a high-quality, compatible adhesive appropriate for your substrate and environment (for example, a heavy-duty wallcovering adhesive for standard interior walls, or an MS polymer adhesive for high-moisture areas).

  • Apply adhesive directly to the substrate, not to the FLEXMARBLE™ sheet.

  • Spread evenly over the entire area where the sheet will be placed.

  • Allow the adhesive to “flash off” briefly as directed by its manufacturer (typically 1–3 minutes), so it partially absorbs into the substrate without forming a skin.

2. Position the Sheet

  • Lift the sheet carefully by its edges, taking care not to crease it.

  • Align the top or one reference edge with your layout line.

  • Lightly tack the sheet in place at the top, then let it fall naturally against the adhesive.

3. Bond and Roll

  • Starting from the center of the sheet, use a rubber roller to press outwards toward the edges.

  • Work in overlapping passes to remove air pockets and ensure full contact.

  • Check for any bubbles or loose spots and re-roll as needed.

Seams, Corners, and Curves

Seams

  • Bring sheets together edge-to-edge; do not overlap.

  • Align patterns as closely as possible.

  • Do not use grout, caulk, or fillers in the seam; a tight, clean joint is the goal.

Use the roller along the seam line to ensure both edges are firmly bonded.

Inside and Outside Corners

For sharp corners, it is generally better to use separate panels rather than forcing one sheet to bend tightly around the corner.

Typical approach:

  1. Terminate the first sheet slightly around the corner.

  2. Start the next sheet from the adjacent surface, aligned to that corner.

  3. Use painter’s tape as needed to protect edges during trimming and finishing.

Curved Surfaces

FLEXMARBLE™ is flexible and can follow gentle curves on columns, furniture, and other non-flat elements.

  • Make sure the curve radius is not too tight.

  • Apply adhesive evenly and press the sheet gradually around the curve with the roller.

  • For very complex shapes, smaller sections or templates may be useful.

Finishing with Lacquer / Sealer

Sealing the surface is strongly recommended to protect FLEXMARBLE™ from stains, moisture, and wear.

Interior Walls & Ceilings

  • Apply 2–3 thin coats of a recommended water-based acrylic or polyurethane lacquer.

  • Use a medium-nap roller or high-quality synthetic brush.

  • Allow each coat to dry fully according to the manufacturer’s directions before applying the next.

This produces a protective layer while maintaining the natural marble look.

High-Moisture or Exterior-Adjacent Areas

For bathrooms, kitchens, spa areas, or partially exposed locations:

  • Apply 4–5 coats for additional moisture resistance.

  • Ensure all edges, seams, and cutouts (e.g., around fixtures) are fully sealed.

  • If a glossy finish is desired, use matte coats first for build and then finish with one or two gloss coats after cure, if compatible with the system.

Heavy-Traffic Surfaces

For areas exposed to frequent touching or impact, such as:

  • Retail displays

  • Reception desks

  • Furniture fronts

Use a durable polyurethane topcoat as the final layer. Follow cure times carefully before placing the area into full service.

Adhesive & Sealer Selection

Because substrates and project conditions vary, always:

  • Choose adhesives that match your substrate (drywall, concrete, tile, etc.) and environment (standard interior vs. high-moisture).

  • Confirm compatibility with FLEXMARBLE™ and any primers or sealers you plan to use.

  • Follow the adhesive and sealer manufacturer’s instructions for coverage, drying, and safety.

If in doubt, test on a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding with full installation.

Maintenance After Installation

Once installed and sealed correctly, FLEXMARBLE™ is easy to maintain:

  • Clean with mild, non-abrasive household cleaners and a soft cloth.

  • Avoid harsh solvents, strong abrasives, or scouring pads that could damage the finish.

  • For long-term refresh, additional coats of compatible lacquer can be applied after a light cleaning and, if needed, gentle scuff-sanding according to the sealer’s instructions.

Safety & Usage Notes

  • Install in well-ventilated areas, especially when using adhesives and sealers.

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (such as gloves, eye protection, and masks) as recommended by product labels.

  • Do not install over actively damp or structurally compromised substrates.

  • For areas exposed to high heat (e.g., near cooktops or fireplaces), ensure the substrate and overall assembly meet local building and fire safety requirements.
